Then don’t get a dog, haha! BUT…if you DO have a dog, training doesn’t just make the big stuff like recall, socialisation and walking on lead easier, but also the little stuff makes a difference too. My dog Bella recently had a paw injury. A layer of the pad had come off – I have no idea how. Examining the injury was made so much easier because of the training we have done – I trained her to be used to being handled and examined, and to lie flat on her side on cue, which makes checking their paws so much easier. Plus, we’d played training games that made her to be happy to have an Elizabethan collar on her head – like the one in the photo. It’s much kinder to prepare our dogs for such things – when they are poorly or hurt, or recovering from an operation, it makes their life better too.
